Thanks for listening, Precious! Iβm glad that part could connect with you where you are. I donβt want to impose limits of my writing and what I enjoy writing about if I donβt have to.
Thank you for sharing this ππΏ I appreciate the part you mentioned about not being forced into niche writing; just playing and having fun, writing about what you want to write about!
This was so special! Alex's smile as he talks through Feels Like Home is palpable in the voiceover. May we all find that joy in our own writing as well as within each other's paradigms!
I love this shit so much. I get so happy thinking about how I get to write whatever I want, and there are wonderful people like you who want to read it. That's a blessing. Thanks for being in my corner, I appreciate you!
This whole paragraph jumps out: And so even now, as I think about my own personal writing journey, I am so cognizant and try to be so careful about not burning myself out, of ensuring that I'm moving at a pace that allows for me to care for myself, to care for my people, to enjoy the things that I want to enjoy, not putting unnecessary pressure on myself.
I'm similar to Alex in that I become obsessive about things I am passionate about and I have to be careful to not center whatever IT is and revolve my sleep, care and overall wellness around it. Instead it should join into the constellation of my life's joys.
Such a great read. I cant wait for you to share more under this heading. There are so many creative titles out there.
thanks for taking the time to read, Rachel. Best in reading and processing outwardly.
Man, I just love how Alex just emptied himself in that piece, in that audio. Heβs such a gift to this community and he's a selfless and human-centric person that I'm just so privileged to be on this writing journey with him.
btw, whatβs one thing youβre obsessed with in this season?
An absolute gift to the community! Slide him under the Christmas tree fr fr.
On obsessions:
Iβm making more time for writing starting next week so looking forward to deepening my craft in that way.
Also thereβs the mental practice of being more present and noticing my emotions . Itβs been helpful to not fold under the weight of my own judgement for every little misstep or inconvenience and if something is sticking around Iβll write to release it.
My overall obsession is being exactly the person I know I am capable of being.
I love that sentiment: joining into the constellation of my lifeβs joys. So beautifully stated. Finding the balance between my joys and understanding what I need to say yes/no to has been so fulfilling. I appreciate you, Rachel. Thanks for loving us and always celebrating with so much heart. It doesnβt go unnoticed.
Thank you for having me, bro. Youβre a gift!

I was listening and reading simultaneously. And it was so good.
I especially loved the part where Alex talked about being able to see where his newsletter takes him without the pressure of niching down.
That's a unique POV I appreciate, especially in this world of "Niche down or you are done for"
Kudos to you, Tobi. This was really brilliantly done.

Alex says such graceful things. He still subtly referenced this today in a note: https://substack.com/@alexlewis/note/c-72608647?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=4aoutj
The poetry project is such a brilliant idea! I imagine all the positive energy that must have brought with it ππβ€οΈ

seriously, Rachel is in a class of her own. Her pen is double edged sword. The Labia piece is a testament to it.
So glad she embraced me with all her heart when i was finding my place on here.
Happy to see and be seen βΊοΈ
yooooo! thatβs the nail on the head! i gotta repost this. π₯π₯
Yes!!! I love the friends Iβve made on here
