whenever I see good writing, I can’t resist it!

let’s talk about Shiffy’s Linkedin bio:
“Your website, your LinkedIn profile, and ads…..”
at that point, she almost lost me because I just assumed it’ll be one of those bread-with-just-butter types (nothing memorable).
what I saw next swept my overly criticizing-ass off its feet.
“…..yacht-load of clients your way….”
now, I get exactly what she said & what she can do because i see a yacht loaded with humans with placards of “help me” (painted in lipstick red) hanging on their neck.
damn! my best life!
i mean, she could have taken the boring route of “your website, LinkedIn profile, ads could generate leads for you” and have us click the back button and hiss on our way out, but she didn’t.
her message is clear. the mental image is clear of what she can do for us.
moral lesson? use words to paint a picture, such that the reader can literally pick up paint and brush to recreate that same picture.
instead of “I’m sad” ———> “i got sacked-and-kicked-out-of-my-house”.
get it?
Got it! The fact that she went straight to what she has to offer is the deal. Rather than an essay that ends up confusing the readers. The mental image, yeah.
Yesss!
