Not every story has a happy ending
You can pray 390 days in 365 days and still not have it figured out. Story of your life? Take a seat let's observe this job seeker's story together.
Why is it that once you start watching a movie, your brain immediately scans for your favourite character?
Sometimes, that favourite character is the hero (batman); other times, a villain (the Joker).
But, in general, everyone tends to have a common favourite character.
In the Money Heist, the Professor was one of such people. Mysterious, Mischievous, Smart, Nerd, and a slow poison.
He almost reminds us of chatGPT. Always having the answers before they’re even asked.
If his team ever got stuck, he always had another plan to attempt to get everyone safe.
Imagine the Professor died a few episodes in uh-ohhhh!
You wouldn’t see that coming, would you?
You probably would dump the movie and return to swiping on TikTok, Tinder, or wherever you love to swipe.
But not every story has a happy ending or a lesson.
That’s precisely what happened to this job seeker:
Did his due diligence by applying for his preferred job. Most companies either go silent, tell you, “Unfortunately, we’ve moved on with another candidate,” or even throw you the famous break-up line:
It’s not you, it’s us.
No, sometimes, it’s just me. However, helpful feedback will help me better prepare for the next opportunity.
Fortunately, this company did, and he refined his approach for the next opportunity:
Went and took the “become a better version of yourself” too seriously with various certifications and, most likely, becoming a PRO at using chatGPT to create different resume samples.
The average job seeker has about 5 CVs sitting on their desktop. From Luke CV.docx to Luke CV(1).docx to Luke CV(2).docx, and so on.
PS: please keep your CV names clean and professional. The Hiring manager doesn’t need to know how many you potentially have.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
―Norman Vincent Peale
He did. He applied for a higher role, and he got served again:
Sometimes, you can shoot for the moon and still land back on Earth. It’s not YOU. It’s just life!
PPS: I wish all movies would adopt this style where the hero dies early on or, better still—start the movie in the middle or near the end because it almost feels like throwing the viewers right into the bed of the ocean without any sign of help coming. They leave the movie angry because their curiosity isn’t satisfied, but they’ll still recommend the movie to friends because misery loves company.

I won't aim for the moon again, I'll aim for the Stars, that way I can land on the moon😅😅. Nothing must bring me back to earth.
